A girl of Egyptian nationality was saved by doctors from a suicide attempt reportedly prompted by a court decision to hand custody of her and her sister over to their maternal uncle following the death of their father. The two girls were visiting their mother in accordance with the schedule stipulated by the court when the girl swallowed a number of pills, and was admitted to a local hospital where medics managed to save her.
