Border Guards in Jizan seized over the last week quantities of hashish totaling over 207 kg. An official in the region said that nearly 68,000kg of qat and 2,630 kg of contraband fireworks were also discovered in anti-smuggling operations. Over 3,700 persons were also held for entering or attempting to enter the Kingdom illegally and a further 83 individuals for assisting them. The week also saw large quantities of other items and products held by officials for a variety of infractions, such as cars., cattle, flour, barley and illegally imported food products.
