The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Monday said that members of the General Department of Anti-Frauds confiscated 1,091 of refrigerated cookie dough products branded “Toll House” for their possible contamination with colon bacteria ‘Escherichia' coli O157:H7 abbreviated as e.coli 0157:H7. In a statement, the ministry said that this action comes after the announcement of the Saudi Food & Drug Authority SFDA on the basis of a published statement by the US Food and Drug Administration that the Nestle Company has retrieved a number of pasta products, refrigerated cookie dough products for the likelihood of contamination with colon bacteria. The ministry also stressed the continuation of the inspections and follow-up tours to ensure that such products are out of the shelves and confiscated if found.
