Roland Ratzenberger was an Austrian racing driver who died during qualifying for the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, the same event that saw the death of Senna. The accidents of Senna and Ratzenberger were the first fatal accidents in Formula One in 12 years, and were the worst of several accidents to take place during the race meeting. __
