year-old girl who is the only known survivor out of 153 people aboard the Yemenia Airways flight that crashed near the Comoros Islands last month has left a Paris hospital where she underwent surgery. Hospital authorities said Friday that Bahia Bakari was discharged Thursday. Bahia survived at sea for up to 13 hours, clinging to debris, after the crash of Flight 626 into the Indian Ocean on June 30. Bahia has recovered from a July 9 operation on her jaw and skin performed a week after she arrived in France. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
