Hashish seized

Border authorities seized 139 kg of hashish from armed smugglers entering the Kingdom across mountain paths Tuesday. An exchange of fire with police occurred when the smugglers realized they had been spotted, but no one was injured. On Monday three persons of African nationality were prevented from entering the Kingdom illegally and were found upon inspection to be harboring 50 blocks of hashish. The three initially tried to flee officials in Jizan but were soon apprehended and turned over to the relevant authorities for investigation.
