Faisal, Emir of Asir Region, on Wednesday honored the Youngest Saudi inventors – Faris Ibrahim Al-Khulaifi (17 years) and his sister Rada (11 years). The honoring came in the light of their winning and representing Saudi Arabia domestically and globally as the two siblings have to their credit 27 different inventions. Faris has invented 19, including 9 patents at King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology. He received the title of the youngest inventor from the Geneva-based International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA). He also bagged the third position at ITEX (The International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition-Malaysia) as well as finished third among 55 Saudi inventors for the phone system for the elderly and people with special needs. He has also authored several books and made rich contributions to the field of literature. Rada Al-Khulaifi received the 1st place at the International Exhibition of Inventors – Geneva 2009 for a child anti-suffocation tool as well as her participation at the 4th Saudi inventors forum with 8 inventions of her own, all patents at KAUST, in addition to her writing of three books.
