– Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has clearly said the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) that led to the withdrawal of corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari and several others will be taken up soon. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who co-chairs the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) with Zardari, has stated categorically that he is ready to create history, which suggests that Gilani might stage a political and moral coup against Zardari. Opposition leader Nawaz Sharif – who was toppled by Pervez Musharraf in 1999 – stands to gain in all this. The Supreme Court led by Chaudhry recently exonerated Sharif of all the bogus charges and convictions brought against him by Musharraf. __
