Amigos team clinched the Jeddah Thursday Bowling League title when it outplayed the favorite Sarawat Stores during the two-game stepladder match during the finals held at Bowling City, Sultana Malls, here. Amigos defeated Sarawat Superstores in their first game, 881-864 thanks to the heroics of Alex Flora (210) and Ernie Geslani (210), while the only player for Sarawat Superstores who managed to score well was Igna Salgado (199). Then Amigos relying on the good games of Rudy Punzalan (209), Ernie Geslani (205) and Rico Nery (204) outsmarted Sarawat Superstores. Salgado, Eddie Tuico and Ed Sardina shot the best output for Sarawat Superstores by pouring in 237, 186 and 178. Amigos went home with a juicy cash prize of SR10,000, while runner-up Sarawat Superstores pocketed SR5,000. Earlier Amigos recorded an easy victory over Cool Change Re-load (969-944) through the sterling performances of Alex Flora (211), Rico Nery (197), Rudy Punzalan (192), Sid Sagun (190) and Ernie Geslani (179). For Cool Change Re-load, Rene Punzalan hit 201, Rene Martinez (195), Ernie Pilapil (187), Zaldy Bacero (182) and Bobby Baraquiel (179). Cool Change Re-Load received a cash prize of SR3,500 for finishing 3rd runner-up. Amigos on the way also beat Cosma Kabbani, 912-830. Ernie Geslani led the Amigos by tallying 194 points. Rico Nery and Sid Sagum scored an identical score of 188. Alex Flora and Rudy Punzalan contributed 180 and 162. Topscoring for Cosma Kabbani was Pancho Cuevas with 181. Following him was Tommy de Castro (180). Nick Gozun, Jess Cerbito and Ruben Grino chipped in with 168, 159 and 142. It bagged a cash prize of SR3,500 for finishing 2nd runner-up.
