Over 3,500 Saudi families participated in the fourth children's art exhibition under the theme “affect and effect” at Red Sea Mall here on Saturday. The exhibition, part of Jeddah Summer Festival “Jeddah Ghair” displayed about 200 painting pictures drawn by Saudi families. Besides several visual arts were on display the art from the Saudi families' perspective. More than 300 painters as well as talented people of different ages and social levels participated in the exhibition. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Abdullah Bin Mare'i Bin Mahfouz, Assistant President of Jeddah Chamber for Commerce and Industry with the participation of a big number of Saudi artists and photographers. The exhibition, Bin Mahfouz said, is part of the JCCI efforts to support the talented youth talented in general and with painting skills in particular “Our role is not focusing on the economic activities only, we have expanded our scope to include social activities at all levels of the society,” said Bin Mahfouz. The exhibition, he said, is primarily to support the cultural, literary, and art activities and to give the new generation an opportunity to express their views in different ways. Fatimah Ba'atheme, an artist and one of the organizers, said the exhibition is aimed at improving the talents of the artists. “We have arranged several workshops to interact with the participants as well as audience who are interested in learning certain type of art,” she said. The exhibition will continue till the end of the festival.
