year-old Yemeni accused of locking his aged father up for six years causing him to lose his sight is to be investigated by the Commission for Investigation and Prosecution (CIP). Yemeni ambassador to Saudi Arabia Muhammad Saleh Al-Qutaish said Yemeni society rejected such conduct, describing it as “not normal for someone from that society”. Al-Qutaish said the embassy had contacted the man's family in Yemen to reassure them that he was being taken care of, and added that police in Tabuk were investigating the case. Ameen Al-Majeedi, a local Yemeni community representative in Tabuk, took the elderly man to hospital on a wheelchair where he was found to have a high level of sugar and blood pressure. The Yemeni national allegedly confined his 70-year-old father in the family house after selling off all of his father's property and receiving the money accordingly. The arrest was made after the head of the Yemeni community lodged a complaint with the police. The Yemeni community leader said the matter came to light when the old man's brother came from Yemen and asked the community for information about his brother whom he could not find. He discovered that his nephew had imprisoned his father in a 2x3 meter room and he then informed the community head.
