The Bab Rizq Jameel program has recently signed an accord with the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) to train 50 high school graduates with a year “on the job” at private companies in order to equip them with the experience required by the job market. Bab Rizq Jameel, part of the Abdul Latif Jameel Social Service Programs, has committed to taking on a number of trainees upon the completion of training and will also provide certificates of experience to those not selected and assist them in finding employment elsewhere. “The program will enable recently graduated students overcome the hurdle of being asked for experience in a post for which they are applying,” said Hisham Lingawi of the HRDF in Makkah. The executive director of Abdul Latif Programs, Ibrahim Muhammad Badawoud, said the program would benefit trainees in the private sector, giving them valuable experience at major companies over the period of a year while earning a stipend provided by the human resources fund. The “training for experience” program, which has so far taken on 100 school-leavers, was launched last year and put into effect in various areas of the private sector such as banks, schools and hospitals. Last June, BRJ achieved a first-time record since inception in mid 2003, when 5,920 job opportunities have been created though BRJ branches throughout the Kingdom. Direct employment program created 452 jobs for males and 214 jobs for females.
