King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, said Monday that the Kingdom is forging ahead with more development and construction projects in the holy sites. Chairing the regular Cabinet meeting that was held this week at Taiba Palace in Madina, the King said the Kingdom would spend generously and without limit for the growth and welfare of the two holy cities of Makkah and Madina in implementation of its duty to serve Islam and Muslims. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, said the Cabinet lauded the King's ongoing visit to the Madina Region by noting the leadership's commitment to see to their needs and also to launch development projects for the good of the nation and its people. The King directed the ministries and related sectors to prepare more facilities in all regions, especially the tourist sites, and to encourage investment in developing domestic tourism in line with the customs, traditions and the Islamic Shariah. Other decisions: u The Cabinet denounced the attacks aimed at toppling the government in Somalia and called on the international community to support the government in bringing about national reconciliation, security and stability. u The Cabinet authorized Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, or his deputy, to hold talks with Indian officials and sign a draft regulation for repatriation of those sentenced to penalties that deprive them of their freedom. u The Cabinet approved investments by the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) in shares of public joint stock companies established by Royal Decree. When licensing such companies, the Cabinet shall specify the respective shares of HRDF and also that of General Organization for Retirement and the General Organization for Social Insurance.
