Stuart Holden scored the equalizer two minutes into second half stoppage time Sunday to lift the United States into a 2-2 draw with Haiti to clinch the Group B title in the Gold Cup. The Americans finished group play with two triumphs and a draw and advanced to a quarterfinal match next Saturday at Philadelphia against an opponent to be decided by Sunday's final Group C matches. The Haitians, who won a 6-5-5 edge over the Americans in the all-time rivalry, seized the lead on goals by Ednerson Raymond in the opening seconds of the second half and Mones Chery three minutes later in the 49th. Davy Arnaud had given the tournament hosts the lead in the sixth minute. In the other match of the night Walter Martinez scored in just the second minute as Honduras went on to thrash Grenada 4-0 and secure a berth in the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals. Honduras, which finished second in Group B to the United States, will play Group A winner Canada next Saturday in Philadelphia. The Americans will meet Jamaica or the third-place team in Group C. Goals by Martinez and Roger Espinoza, both set up by Allan Lalin, gave Honduras a 2-0 lead at halftime. Melvin Valladares scored in the 56th minute when he headed in a Martinez a corner past Grenada goalkeeper Andray Baptiste. Carlos Costly sealed the win with a penalty in the 67th minute. Baptiste stopped the first shot with his upper body, but Costly easily knocked in the rebound. Honduras reached the Gold Cup semifinals in 2005, losing to the United States, which went on to win the tournament. Mexico coach to miss tie Mexico coach Javier Aguirre was suspended on Saturday for three matches by CONCACAF's disciplinary committee, jeopardizing his status for a key World Cup qualifier against the US. Aguirre's ban starts with Sunday's Gold Cup group match against Guadeloupe. He could return for the July 26 final if Mexico makes it that far.
