Sabic on Saturday started receiving applications from high school graduates for scholarships. Saudi Aramco will start receiving admission applications for the orientation program on Tuesday. A student on Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation scholarship will be receiving a monthly stipend, housing and book allowances, medical insurance and yearly air ticket. Majors included in the scholarships are engineering – chemical, mechanic, electric, environmental, metallurgy and control – marketing, accounting, economics, safety engineering, human resources management, fire prevention engineering and industrial health. Saudi Aramco would receive applications from outstanding high school graduates for its pre-university program. A student gets a SR2,500 monthly allowance and admission in a university or a college, decided by the company, for a bachelor degree if he or she passes the program successfully. The company also determines the specialization in college. The majors required are petroleum engineering, geology, and engineering and computer majors.
