The Makkah Region Development Authority on Thursday demolished 55-year-old Ajyad Hospital near the Grand Mosque as part of the expansion of the Holy Haram's courtyards. The expanded area of about 3,000 sq. meters is expected to accommodate 7,000 worshippers. The company executing the new Ajyad Hospital Project within the Central Area is continuing cutting the rocks to prepare the land reaching an area of 1.11 million sq. meters. It includes a mezzanine, car park, services floors and a floor for the worshipping area. Of the total area of the project, 20,000 sq. meters have been allocated for the construction of the hospital according to international standards and the remaining area will be for investment ventures.
