Bayern Munich has set a price tag of 80 million euros on French midfielder Franck Ribery, tabloid daily Bild reported on Tuesday. The German giant has been insisting all summer it intends to hang onto Ribery, who insists he wants to join Real Madrid. According to Bild, Bayern has given the Spaniards an ultimatum of July 16, the day when the squad begin pre-season training, to decide if it is ready to stump up the cash or not. The paper did not divulge its source. With Real having prized Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United for a world record 94 million euros and also snapped up Kaka from AC Milan for 65 million euros, Bayern's general manager Uli Hoeness is determined to get top dollar, Bild stressed. Bayern's new coach Louis van Gaal indicated on Sunday he wanted to see an end to the uncertainty over Ribery's future. Obertan moving to United Bordeaux winger Gabriel Obertan is undergoing a medical examination at Manchester United as he closes in on a move to the Premier League champion. The 20-year-old Obertan is reportedly set to join for 3 million pounds ($4.9 million) on a four-year contract. Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud said Monday that it was a “great possibility” United would sign Obertan. Foster extends contract Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has signed a deal extending his contract until 2013, the club said Tuesday. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: “We are delighted that Ben has signed a new four-year deal. Ben is seen as one of the best young goalkeepers in England and we genuinely see him as a successor to Edwin Van der Sar” Foster, 26, has endured various injury problems and missed the end of the season after having an operation on a ruptured thumb ligament. He played in the team which won the League Cup final, beating Tottenham on penalties last March. Foster has won two England caps to date. Milan signs Onyewu AC Milan sprung a transfer surprise on Monday, although not one likely to appease disgruntled fans, by signing United States defender Oguchi Onyewu from Standard Liege. The 27-year-old center-back had come to the end of his contract in Belgium but holds a Belgian passport so will not be counted as a non-EU player on Milan's roster.
