Thespian Dilip Kumar returned to his Bandra home from Lilavati Hospital nearly after a week. The 87-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital and was being treated for cerebral falciparum malaria. He was discharged from the hospital in the aftrenoon on Saturday. Dr Jalil Parkar, who was treating the veteran actor, said, “He is recuperating well and is much better now. Rest of the treatment will be done at home.'' Udaya Tara Nayar, a close family friend of the Kumars, said, “He is doing fine now.'' Another friend said, “His fever was not coming down so we had decided to admit him. He tested positive for malaria.'' Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who was In Mumbai to inaugurate the Bandra-Worli sea link, had called upon the actor last Tuesday. The other politicians who visited the actor included Ghulam Nabi Azad, Kripashankar Singh and chief minister Ashok Chavan. Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray had also inquired about Kumar's health. Thackeray, who is a fan and friend of Kumar, fell out with him after the latter refused to return Nishan-e-Imtiaz award conferred on him by the Pakistan government.
