The Islamic Scientific, Educational and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has approved a draft report for inclusion of the culture of dialogue among civilizations in academic curricula. The decision was announced at the conclusion of its 10th general conference in Tunis, Friday, which was attended by delegates from 50 countries including the Kingdom. ISESCO is a specialized international organization working within the framework of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), specializing in the fields of education, science, culture and communication. The approved draft report of ISESCO's programs committee stresses the importance of including the concept of a culture of dialogue among civilizations in the academic curricula, and promoting the teaching of Arabic language and Islamic education in African countries. The draft also calls for stepping up anti-illiteracy programs and adult education in the Muslim countries. The conference also approved two outline plans for the organization's work in 2010-12 and 2010-18 as part of ISESCO's effort to introduce sophisticated means to achieve its goals.
