King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) in Jeddah has signed a SR45 million contract with a local company to construct new hospital buildings, medical units, and expand its current bed capacity. The contract includes a new primary healthcare hospital of 150 beds for the institution facility in both Jeddah and Riyadh, said Fahd Al-Abduljabar, chairman of the board of directors at KFSH&RC, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the General Supervisor of the Royal Clinics. The construction project at the hospital site in Jeddah will also include a pediatric hospital, trauma center, cardiac center, and new outpatient clinics. The signing of the contract was attended by Tariq Lanjawi, executive director of KFSH&RC/Jeddah and Abdullah Al-Rumaih, director of contract administration at KFSH&RC. The project is expected to be completed by July 2012. KFSH&RC is a 894-bed multi-facility, multi-entity tertiary care hospital and one of the leading healthcare institutions in the Kingdom.
