BANGLADESHI State Minister Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, who heads the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives, assured the Bangladeshi community here that the establishment of an expatriate bank in the Kingdom was in the cards. “This bank would be of great help to expats. Implementation of projects with the participation of expatriates in economic and social welfare activities in Bangladesh will aid the progress of the country,” said Nanak, who was recently here on an Umrah visit. He said that the Bangladeshi government has taken several decisions in favor of Bangladeshi expats, adding that the government is working towards solving their problems and to fulfill the promises made by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her visit to the Kingdom in April. “The government has already taken initiatives to establish a life insurance company and a welfare fund for the Bangladeshi expats,”he said. The minister thanked the Saudi government and commended the “excellent services at the Two Holy Mosques that have been very helpful to the pilgrims during the Haj and Umrah.
