King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is scheduled to launch today a forum for certified trainers in the promotion of the culture of dialogue. The event, at King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue, is part of its program to promote tolerance of other people's opinions. The forum will be held in the presence of the Grand Mufti and the head of the Shoura Council. The speakers include ministers and other authorities. The King's support “has given the national dialogue great intellectual and moral value,” said Faisal Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Mu'ammar, Secretary General of the Center, who described the scheme as “representing an intellectual message on which all the various facets of Saudi society unite”. “The forum aims to instill the values of dialogue and ingrain them in Saudi society,” he added. “The center has been making considerable continuous efforts to train and prepare a large group of both male and female certified trainers to lead the way in spreading the culture of dialogue and promoting communication skills around the Kingdom.” Bin Mu'ammar said that the number of certified trainers exceeded 1,200 and that over 150,000 trainees had benefited from the center's numerous training sessions and programs. The first day of the July 4-6 forum will host an inaugural speech from Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hussayyin, Chairman of the National Forum for Intellectual Dialogue, and further speeches by the Secretary General of the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue and Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Aal Al-Sheikh. Minister of Information and Culture Abdul Aziz Khoja is also scheduled to speak on the role of the mass media in promoting dialogue. The second day will host speeches by Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdul Aziz Aal Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call (Da'wa) and Guidance on the importance of the mosque in promoting dialogue, and Minister of Education Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad Aal Saud on the role of his ministry. Day three will hear Abdullah Aal Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Shoura Council, speak on the effect of dialogue in promoting national unity, and will be followed by speeches from the President of Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University Princess Al-Jawharah Bint Fahd Aal Saud, and Noura Al-Fayez, Deputy Minister of Girls' Education. – SPA/SGTRAINER'S TASK The trainer, as qualified by the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue, engages in training sessions around the country to improve dialogue skills to: • Promote respect for other peoples' opinions • Promote tolerance and moderation • Support the expression of views by which the culture of dialogue is consecrated fully and responsibly. __
