An Egyptian tailor has been sentenced by the District Court in Jeddah to 60 “almost forceful” lashes of the whip for touching a female while taking her measurements. The sentence further entailed that the man undertake an oath not to repeat the actions, while also requiring a similar declaration from the guardian of the girl who brought the accusations to play a greater role in her protection and address the lack of attention that permitted her to go to male tailors.
