A forum for trainers to promote the culture of dialogue is to be held from July 4 to 6 to instill the culture and values of dialogue as manifested in tolerance, moderation and accepting the opinions of others, according to Fahd Bin Sultan Al-Sultan, Deputy Secretary General of the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue. Al-Sultan told Saudi Press Agency Tuesday that the forum was part of programs by which the Center for National Dialogue targets various sections of society to promote interaction between the center and the public, and cited the “Ambassador” and “Family Dialogue” as examples of upcoming programs to promote dialogue and highlight its foundations. Al-Sultan said the three-day forum was expecting a large attendance following the center's training of over 1,200 approved male and female trainers for promoting dialogue who received instruction on dialogue and communications skills. Since its inception in 2003, the center has held regular training courses and workshops to instruct approved trainers who in turn conduct training for over 150,000 male and females around the Kingdom. The first day of the forum will host an inaugural speech from Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hussayyen, Chairman of the National Forum for Intellectual Dialogue, and further speeches by the Secretary General of the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue and Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Aal Al-Sheikh. Minister of Culture and Information Abdul Aziz Khoja is also scheduled to speak on the role of the mass media in promoting dialogue. The second day of the forum will host speeches by Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdul Aziz Aal Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call (Da'wa) and Guidance on the importance of the mosque in promoting dialogue, and Minister of Education Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad on the role of his ministry. Day three will hear Abdullah Aal Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Shoura Council, speak on the effect of dialogue in promoting national unity, and will be followed by speeches from the President of Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University Princess Al-Jawharah Bint Fahd Aal Saud, and Noura Al-Fayez, Deputy Minister of Girls' Education. Al-Sultan said the center's training programs were a part of efforts by the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue to improve interaction with the public and help people access the variety of intellectual and scientific media with which they may familiarize themselves with the principles of dialogue and addressing important issues through dialogue.
