Islamic scholars from within the Kingdom and abroad are scheduled to discuss this year in Madina the danger of “Takfir” (accusing other Muslims of unbelief) to the life of the society and the individual. The conference, to be patronized by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is being organized by Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz International Prize for the Prophet's Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies with the participation of Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University, will discuss the causes of Takfir and the ways to deal with it. The Higher Supervisory Committee for the conference under the chairmanship of Dr. Sa'ed Al-Orabi Al-Harthi, Adviser to the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, held a meeting here on Saturday to discuss the preparations for the conference, the participants and the research and working papers that will be presented. Dr. Al-Harthi said that officials, academics, educators and media personnel from all over the Muslim World will participate in the conference. The participants, he added, have been selected in line with the conference's major goals that aim at explaining the Shariah ruling on Takfir, shedding light on its ideological and historical roots, discussing its causes and highlighting its danger and impact on society and presenting suitable solutions.
