A senior port official here has said he has no accurate information about the Saudi ship and crew missing in India. Na'eem Al-Na'eem, Director General of King Abdul Aziz Port here, said the issue concern the Ministry of Transport and other government bodies. An official at the Indian Coast Guards said the ship, Al-Hassani, and its 14-member crew is in a safe location. Sources said authorities lost all contacts with the other ship, Al-Jawaz Al-Karam. Coast Guard boats and helicopters are searching the area where the crew is believed to have left in a life boat abandoning the ship. Saleh Al-Ghamdi, Saudi Ambassador to India, said the embassy is coordinating with the Indian Coast Guards. Reports said two commercial ships with Saudi flags had disappeared near the western coast of Gujarat in the Arabian Sea. Some people fear the ships lost its way Friday morning due to unstable whether conditions. Al-Hassani is believed to have been drifted to a shallow water area.
