Freih, Passenger Services and Sales General Manager of Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) in the southern region, said a new fleet of over 70 planes will join the current Saudia fleet within the coming two months. In a ceremony organized by SAA at Jizan station on Wednesday evening to honor travel, tourism and air cargo agents and the airline's retiring and outstanding employees, he said Saudia is providing and will provide several services within the sphere of its care and attention for Jizan Region. This will be through increasing flights and supporting tourism in implementation of the directives of the corporation's director general. Abdul Aziz Al-Hazmi, Assistant Executive Director General for Marketing in Saudia, who patronized the ceremony, underlined the important role that travel agencies play through their partnership side-by-side with Saudia in the march of success. Rashed Al-Zahrani, Saudia General Manager in Jizan, gave a review of the airline's accomplishments in 2008. He said during the period from January to May, Jizan station operated 2900 flights to and from Jizan and the total number of passengers reached 274,514.
