Jeddah Governorate is slated to look into a complaint filed by a Saudi father against the Boys' Education Administration referring the case dossier on a teacher who beat his son, to the police and the Commission for Investigation and Prosecution. In his complaint, the Saudi national Jaber Al-Qadhi considered a teacher who beat his son, Hasan, a third year primary school student in a government school, to have committed a crime. He said that the beating left a 6-cm-long scratch on his son's face, according to the medical report issued by the Schools Health Department. He pointed out that Al-Salama Police Station refused to receive his complaint and directed him to hand it over to the Education Administration, as it is the pertinent body to deal with this case. Abdullah Al-Thaqafi, Director of Education in Jeddah, had earlier issued directives to the Follow-up Section in his Administration to investigate the complaint filed by the Saudi father.
