The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) financed over a twelve-month period 16 development projects in 15 Asian and African countries at a total cost of SR1.168 billion, according to its annual report for the financial year of 2008 released here on Tuesday. Nine other projects in developing countries were also funded during the same period, costing SR752 million. The report further notes that the SFD, since its inception in 1975, has contributed SR28.896 billion to fund 430 economic and development programs in some 73 countries.
