A young Saudi man was shot dead Monday night after a brawl broke out among a group of Saudis on an outing in a private rest house in Al-Maghamas village near here. The police reached the spot after getting information of the fight and arrested all those camping in the rest house. “We received a call from the group about the fight wherein guns were used. We found that a Saudi, aged 30, was shot in the chest several times,” Major Abdulmohsen Al-Maiman, spokesman of Makkah police, said. The brawl, he said, occurred over some financial transactions. A large number of live cartridges and guns were seized from the rest house, Al-Maiman said. The killer is yet to be identified, and investigations are continuing, he added.
