The Bab Rizq Jameel “Job Opportunities” project has opened a new Jeddah branch on the Ring Road in Al-Samir District, making it the third in the city and the sixth branch Kingdomwide. The branch was opened by Muhammad Abdulatif Jameel Executive President of the project – part of Abdulatif Jameel Programs for Society Service – which saw its first Jeddah office opened on Sari Street in 2007 and a second in the Kandarah District two months ago, along with branches in Riyadh and Dammam, and most recently last month in Makkah. Jameel spoke during the inauguration of his delight at the “excellent small projects” he had seen and commended a number of ideas for development and sponsorship. Jameel also thanked the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), the Saudi Credit and Savings Bank, and the Emir's Office in Makkah for their support to the project, which offers small business loans. According to the manager of one Jeddah branch, Maha Al-Harbi, 450 job opportunities had been created by her office since it opened two months ago. The office targets, Al-Harbi noted, a job creation rate of 200 positions per month. Bab Rizq Jameel runs programs aimed at creating jobs and building up a database of private sector vacancies to match with lists of male and female applicants. Bab Rizq Jameel also runs training programs with employment opportunities upon completion with the support of the HRDF, and grants interest-free loans and spaces for shops for small businesspersons.
