The National Center for Wildlife Research in Taif announced on Wednesday that the last two months have seen the successful births of four rare Arabian leopards. Staff at the center are keeping a close eye on the four cubs, with two of them being fed by their mother “Lina” naturally, and two from another mother being fed artificially after being rejected. Wildlife authorities are working to increase the numbers of what is one of the rarest mammals in the Arabian Peninsula and reintroduce it to its natural habitat. Only around two hundred are believed to exist throughout Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
