Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Manea has directed all hospitals affiliating to the Ministry of Health to treat expatriates who happened to be infected of hereditary blood diseases `sickle-cell anemia and Mediterranean anemia` just like citizens in terms of needed blood transfusion and medical services, without asking the patients to compensate the blood transfused through relatives blood donations. The official spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr. Khaled Merghalani said that the ministry would like to reassure that these services will be provided in all hospitals throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to these patients. Merghalani then gave statistical figures on the spread of sickle-cell anemia and Mediterranean anemia among Saudis. __
