The Court of Cassation in Makkah on Wednesday approved a verdict of the Summary Court in Madina sentencing a 70-year-old Pakistani to three years in prison and 840 lashes for indulging in sorcery. The Pakistani national will also be deported after spending his time in prison. The court also sentenced an employee at the mayoralty to four months and 60 lashes for his role in the case. Another participant, a teacher, was sentenced to two-week imprisonment. The Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice arrested the man after a Saudi filed a report against him.
