Kuwait's Mobile Telecommunications Co (Zain), the third-largest Arab telecom company by market value, said first-quarter profit rose by 2.7 percent. It missed analysts' forecasts. Net income in the three months to March 31 was 73.3 million dinars ($276.2 million), compared with 71.4 million dinars in the year-earlier period, the company said in a statement. Analysts' forecasts for Zain's first-quarter profit in Reuters survey last month ranged between 86.5 million dinars and 108.6 million dinars, with the average at 99.7 million dinars. __
