Qatar Airways will launch daily non-stop flights between Doha and Kozhikode in India's southern state of Kerala from June 15. “India today is by far the largest single market for Qatar Airways with a network of eight, and soon nine cities (will be) served non-stop from Doha,” Qatar Airways Chief Executive Akbar Al-Baker said in a statement. “During 2007 alone Qatar Airways launched three new routes to India. Our new services to Kozhikode will only strengthen our position in this market.” Kozhikode is the third destination in Kerala the airline will be flying to, the other two being Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. With the addition of Kozhikode on its list of Indian destinations, the airline will have 58 flights a week to India. Airbus A320 will be used on the Doha-Kozhikode route, the airline stated. A large number of Qatar's 200,000-strong Indian expatriate community hail from Kerala. __
