Queen Rania Abdullah, wife of King Abdallah II of Jordan, will visit for the first time, the headquarters of the Islamic Development Bank on Saturday to acquaint herself with the activities of the IDB Group as well as its efforts to support development plans and programs in IDB member countries. The president of the IDB Group, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali expressed his appreciation for the visit and the cooperation between Jordan and the Group. Jordan, one of the founding members of the IDB, has an extensive record of remarkable cooperation with the IDB since its establishment in 1975. To date, IDB's contribution to development in Jordan is estimated at $1.6 billion. It comprises 64 development projects in various fields like education, health, agriculture, roads and rural development in addition to 91 external trade financing operations as part of the bank's effort to increase the volume of trade among member countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. __
