Shifa Herbal Kerala XI won the Keli-Dhuwa Cup by beating Rukkie's Tea Rimal 2-0 in the thrilling final of the 5th Keli Football Tournament at Al-Asima Stadium here Friday. In the 30th minute, Kerala XI earned a penalty after Mersi sent a pinpointed through to Sayed who found himself in a scoring position inside the box. With no other option around, a Rimal defender tackled him and the referee pointed to the dreaded spot. The spot-kick was converted cooly by Noushad. Kerala XI's second goal came off a counter attack initiated by captain Mujeeb, who essayed a fine through pass to Shakeel. The tournament's top scorer Shakeel dribbled past two opponents and found Noushad in a scoring position. Noushad forayed into the box and the top-notch striker had no problem in netting the ball in. Noushad, who scored two goals, was declared the Man of the Match. Kerala XI's custodian Shahaib was adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament, while the Shifa Al-Jazeera Star team won the Fair Play Award. The winners got prize-money of SR10,000, while the runner-up took SR7,000. Semifinalists got SR2,000 each and the remaining four teams participated availed SR1,000 each. Keli Balavedi boys stole the show during the closing ceremony with a spectacular display carrying the fair play flag. Abdullah Ali Al Thuraikhi was the chief guest of the day. Keli President Prem Salil presided over the function. Keli Secretary KPM Sadiq welcomed the guests. K.R. Unni Krishnan (Convener, Keli), Muhammadali Mundodan (NRK Chairman), Usman Ali (KMCC), Ashraf Vadakkevila (ICC) and M. Naseer (Convener, Tournament Committee) also spoke. Shaji Aripra, Nasar Abubacker, Nasser Pallivalappil, Shakeeb Kolakkadan, Kammu Chemmad also graced the ceremony. __
