strong gang of Bangladeshis who stripped a housing complex in the district of Al-Aqeefa of all its electricity cables, water pipes and fittings Sunday and sold them off at a local scrap market. Police said that not only had all interior fittings been taken, but that the gang even managed to dig a 200-m channel outside the housing units to remove entire electricity and water network cables and pipes. The thieves were reportedly acquainted with construction workers employed at the site of the theft, and police managed to identify many of those responsible shortly after the incident was reported. The detained led investigators to other members of the gang. The owner of the housing project said that losses from the incident amounted to one and a half million riyals.
