A schoolteacher was kidnapped and robbed by five masked gunmen before being left in a remote area of Asir Monday. The 33-year-old Arabic language teacher from a secondary school in Balqaran told police that two vehicles forced him to stop his car, whereupon he was blindfolded and gagged and taken to an unknown destination. The teacher said that he was then threatened with a rifle and a knife when he refused to respond to their demands for examination papers, before the masked men searched his vehicle and robbed him of CDs containing school examination questions, over SR7,000 and his mobile telephone. The abductors said they would kill him if he later changed examination questions or informed the police, according to the teacher. Police have not yet made any arrests.
