The Administrative Court in Jeddah will on Wednesday resume hearing the bribery case involving 26 people in Taif among whom are municipality employees, businessmen and others. The suspects are accused of receiving bribes for facilitating the approval of violating transactions. Wednesday's hearing is expected to result in decisions in the case that has been in court for almost three years. The court postponed the last session after it sent an inquiry to Taif Municipality requesting information on the amount of money one of the defendants received to process a violating transaction related to awarding a municipal project to a businessman. The defendants have demanded the acceleration of the trial process so as to prove their innocence after they presented evidence supporting their positions.
