Officers of the Thahban Police rescued five brothers aged between nine and 17 after being detained by their own father in a private resort in an uninhabited area north of Jeddah. The father hired five Africans – of which four were illegals – to guard the place to make sure the boys and girls couldn't leave. The eldest 17-year-old son called the police through his mobile. The Police sent cruisers to the location and freed the kids, arresting two of the guards. One of the arrested guards was released because he was a legal resident, while the other is being interrogated. The remaining three had managed to escape before the police arrived. The young man who made the call told the police his father detained him, his two brothers and two sisters in a room inside a resort. He said they were there for five days with no food. He told the police that the place was guarded. The father is currently out of Jeddah, as the kids and their mother were referred to King Fahd and Maternity Hospitals, prior to referring them to social care. The Kids' mother said that last Wednesday evening, the family went to the resort, where she had a dispute with the father. The father was carrying a pistol which he fired in the air and told the eldest son to drive his mother to her parents' house in Makkah and return. She said he threatened to kill her and burn her kids alive if any one of them tries to follow her. – Okaz __
