Police here on Saturday detained a Burmese national whose wife was stabbed to death inside their house east of the city. The man told the police he was working late at a carpentry shop and found his wife lying in a pool of blood when he came home. Investigations showed the deceased was an illegal resident who had a five-year-old son. Stab wounds were found in the neck and chest of the woman. Police spokesman Colonel Misfer Al-Juaid said the husband has been detained for further investigations.
