The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JCCI) is slated to host DecoFair, an exhibition for furniture and home accessories, on Nov. 8-12 at the Jeddah International Exhibition Center. The expo, regarded as the first-of-its-kind in the Kingdom, was conceived amid huge demand for such products brought about by robust construction industry. Haya I. Alsunaidi, managing director of Sunaidi Expo, organizer of the event, said “this is part of the efforts for consolidating and promoting the furniture and furnishing industries nationally and internationally.” Annual demand for furniture and decors has reached SR3 billion mark, she added. “The ongoing construction boom is generating lots of demand for building materials … as much as for furniture and decors,” she noted. The show is aimed at attracting architects, interior designers, real estate developers and companies involved in all these sectors. Leading international figures in the world of design furnishings and upholstery are participating in the exposition as well as companies from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states, Lebanon, Italy, France and Spain. “We will turn the show into an annual global event since it has received considerable attention from furniture manufacturers in Saudi Arabia and abroad,” the managing director of Sunaidi Expo added. More than two-thirds of the exhibition have already been booked for a period. Decofair is an opportunity for designers and traders to generate sales leads and anticipate future creative techniques in designing and manufacturing furniture, and home accessories. Dareen Shakra, Public Relations manager at 345 degrees company, a subsidiary of Hasan Al Fadel Group, said that as part of an extensive campaign about the expo, private invitations will be sent out to all furnishing retailers, interior designers, architects, wholesalers, distributors, manufactures, importers, exporters, agents and representatives in Saudi Arabia and other Arabian countries, aside from utilizing other forms of advertising, plus the use of SMS and e
