year-old child carried out his threat to hang himself last week when his father refused to buy him a PlayStation. The boy had told his father that if he did not buy him the games console then he would commit suicide, a threat which, in view of the family's limited financial circumstances, his parents failed to take seriously. The child hanged himself with a rope at the family home.
