King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Chairman of the Higher Education Council, has approved a package of decisions adopted by the Council in its 54th session. Dr. Khaled Bin Muhammad Al-Anaqri, Minister of Higher Education, said the Monarch had approved payment of internship allowance to all female and male medical students who are studying in medical colleges in different universities in the Kingdom. He said the Council has given the go-ahead for restructuring all sections of Business Administration of King Saud University so as to comprise: Economics, Accountancy, Management Information Systems, Management, Finance and Marketing, Public Administration, Postgraduate Studies and Accumulative Analysis. Apart from this the Council endorsed the establishment of the Medical Education section and Cardiac Sciences section at the Faculty of Medicine of King Saud University in Riyadh, Islamic Studies section and Arabic Language at Faculty of Arts in Bisha an affiliate of King Khaled University and English Language section at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in Jizan University. Dr. Al-Anqari said the decisions approved by the King include the setting up of research centers and institutes in some universities. As such, approval has been given for converting the “Research and Consultation Center” at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah into a “Research and Consultation Institute”, the “Islamic Architecture and Planning Unit” at King Faisal University in Dammam into a center besides the establishment of a “National Center for Talent and Creativity” at King Faisal University and another one at King Khaled University and “ Center for Poisons Research and Studies” at Taiba University in Madina. The Council also approved a memorandum of understanding signed by Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University and the Jordanian University. It has also extended terms of some deputy presidents of King Faisal, King Saud, Qassim, Al-Jouf, and King Abdulaziz universities by three years. Additionally, it has approved a package of annual reports made by King Faisal University, Princes Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University, Tabuk and Najran University for the academic year 2007
