The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Hai'a) has arrested three youths who tried to blackmail a university student after one of them obtained photographs of her and gave copies to his friends. The three reportedly made repeated telephone calls to the girl, after which she turned to the Hai'a who arrested one of them at the university and found in his possession images of the girl and illicit film clips. The man's companions were also subsequently detained. The Hai'a in the region warned girls not to fall for the tricks of young men and said that any information they brought to the Hai'a would be treated in the strictest confidence.
