The Ministry of Health spokesman, Khaled Marghalani, has said that the new pay scale for health workers, approved Monday by the Council of Ministers, would see salary rises ranging from ten to around 27 percent. Marghalani said that all Saudi health practitioners who are government employees would benefit from the move, which he described as “based on the principles of justice and equality”. Doctors and dentists, he added, would be provided with a housing allowance of SR50, 000 per annum.
