Ministers of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in member countries of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) have expressed appreciation for the support and assistance extended to their conference by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah; Crown Prince Sultan, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General; and Prince Naif, the Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister. They also praised the support of the Saudi Leadership to the causes of Muslims and their service of the Two Holy Mosques as well as the pilgrims and visitors of the Holy Places. The remarks of the Ministers came at the end of their Eight Conference, which ended its three-day deliberations Monday night in Jeddah. The conference was organized under the title of ‘Intellectual security and the role of the ministries of Islamic affairs in this respect'. The Ministers lauded the fruitful efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of realizing intellectual security and fortifying youth against the trends of extremism, terrorism and deviant ideas.They viewed the initiative of the King, for conducting dialogue with the followers of religions and cultures as a positive contribution to serving the higher interests advocated by the Islamic Shariah. The conference called for respect of particularities of the countries and adherence to the Arab, Islamic and international conventions taking into account the importance of cooperation and coordination as regards intellectual security and dialogue among followers of religions and culture. The Conference warned the Muslim nation against becoming tools in the hands of their enemies. It underlined the importance of national unity, and voiced rejection to calls of secessionism and sedition in Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Pakistan and other Muslim countries. The conference also rejected intervention in the domestic affairs of Muslim countries. It called on the Palestinians to unite their ranks, and slammed the vicious aggressions against the Palestinians.
