The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Culture and Information and the Embassy of Turkmenistan are presenting a cultural show under the theme “Turkmenistan Cultural Days” from May 25-28 at King Abdul Aziz Center Abraq-Al-Regham. The program was inaugurated on Monday by Dr. Abubakar Baqader, the deputy minister of culture and information and cultural relations, in the presence of Ovezmukhammet Mametnurow, the director of the National Museum of Turkmenistan, officials of Turkmenistan, a number of other guests and members of the public. “Today we present a program of Turkmenistan cultural activity,” said Dr. Baqader. “Through such activities, encounters and cultural exchange programs, we will have a better understanding and appreciation of other people and of their customs. Such programs will create better cultural exchange between Saudi Arabia and other countries,” he said. The cultural night featured folk dances, songs, plays, and music with the participation of Turkmenistan artists, dancers, and musicians. Among the programs enjoyed most was a play by Turkmenistan artist Al-Haiz Ali and the performances of Turkmenistan drummers “Barludia” and the young dance group “Jaba Kallar”. “I liked the program very much; it was great to experience Turkmenistan music, culture and folk dances, especially the performance of the drummers which was excellent. I really enjoyed it,” said Abdul Aziz, a young Saudi who attended the program.
